White Landscape 6/16 - SOLD

This piece is made up of various boards hand laminated in a construction style - undercoated with medium texture it is then finished in white chalky paint. This has been very hard to photograph as the focus of the shapes and the white surface change continually under different light making the piece visually very interesting. 

Set behind glass in a shallow box frame which is finished in natural satin wood - the overall measurements are 33" x 25" x 2"

I started this piece in 2012 and it has until recently been hidden away in bubble wrap - having found it I have spent a little time completing it and I have now framed it in a renovated wood frame.

The frame is finished in antique cream paint and the artwork is set behind glass.

A little while ago I announced that I would be staging my own exhibition in Salisbury. Unfortunately the venue has now been commandeered by the Salisbury Council to stage an overspill which forms part of the Salisbury Arts Festival and I have decided that across the summer I will complete work I started and release it as usual via my blog spot.

March Ashmore Landscapes - SOLD

March is a favourite time of year for me here in Dorset. The fields are ploughed and with a drying wind the brown tones of the soil change from dark to almost white. We are lucky that in this particular part of the county we have far reaching views across miles of countryside and in the late afternoon - early evening this countryside is just exceptional.

In these pieces I have tried to capture a little of sense of this countryside at this time of year and they are created as a relief with hand cut panels laminated then over painted with the surfaces and backboard then being worked with sandpaper and a razor edge.
