This piece is an idea representational piece which formed part of a presentation to an Interior Designer who was looking for large panel artwork for a client in London.

The commission entailed two large pieces of 6' x 5' and three smaller pieces and I am happy to say the client was very happy with the results.

Winter Horizons II - Construction/Relief - SOLD

I present the second in my Winter Horizons series of constructions/reliefs - this piece is made up of wood and heavy card which has been hand cut and is laminated in five layers. The panels are undercoated with various texture medium then hand painted with chalky white paint.

Art and Ambition 2016

Since I started creating artwork over 5 years ago I have been fortunate that my work has been supported and purchased continually and I now have a number of wonderful supporters who have been the reason why I continued and developed my work and have seen it purchased by customers as far away as Singapore to the US.

 

  

Via eBay - my blog and website I have enjoyed great success as well as having tried out my work with success via a small numbers of galleries here in the South West and London.

 

As 2016 starts I have pondered what the next step should be and I have realised that there is only one real direction and I intend to pursue this avenue across this year.

 

 

When I started and as I continued I never imagined I would have made this rather unexpected career change albeit that I have continued with business world work to subsidise my art ensuring I could continue and that Gael and I [and now Alfie the Cocker Spaniel] do not starve in the process.

 

To focus on creating my work to now work with galleries in the 'real world art market' I shall be ceasing my business world work as well as removing myself from eBay to ensure there is no conflict.

Abstract Relief/Construction 'Scully View'

I have been fortunate to be busy with some exciting commissions which have led me into the world of Sean Scully for inspiration.

 I realised that I had created a piece a few years ago which has been wrapped and stored away and having re discovered it I used it as a basis to create the commission pieces which measure 6' x 4'.

 

I have now re framed my original piece and offer it for sale.

 

 

 

The piece is made up of various wood and wood board and card painted and placed together in a construction/relief style.

A still life is not just for Xmas!!

 

I have been kept very busy with commission works for a few weeks now and I have struggled to create any general work. I am fortunate and have a number of commissions which will keep me busy during the first couple of months of 2016.

 

As a way of signing off until the New Year as on Thursday next week Gael - Alfie the cocker spaniel and me head off on our annual Xmas odyssey to East Yorkshire until the New Year, I am happy to present the last Nicholson Still life which has been sitting waiting for me to finish for some time.
